Bringing Light, Love & Passion to This Wonderful Ancient Practice

Yoga took me by complete surprise. During my late 20s I was at a low point, unknowingly I was in search of something to distract me. So whilst in search of a dance class (can you imagine!) I stumbled on a Yoga class instead. It was perfect to try, just around the corner from me, straight after work, and home in time for dinner, brilliant! So I rocked up and our first pose launched me in to Downward Dog. I’ve never moaned and groaned so much, only to be told this was the warm up. Honestly, I was around 28 years old but felt 80! I went home after that first class and felt wonderful. I woke up the next day wanting more. I’ve never looked back. Never before has anything gripped my attention in the way Yoga has. And if I didn’t get to class one week, boy did I know it.

Yoga ever since, has certainly helped me to restore balance and find home within myself. And this is from where I teach. Always from the heart, always from the knowing, always from the feeling of ‘I’ve experienced this in yoga too’. I do not profess to be the best ‘performer’ of Headstand, in fact I am not a performer at all. I simply hold space for you, the student, who wants to get back home in themselves too.

Wanting a change of direction, I dipped my toe into the water of teaching Yoga and ever since, this is where I have been. It’s accompanied me through house moves and having a delightful young family.

I truly enjoy helping people to help themselves. Giving them the tools to cope, to expand, to find space inside, to glow, to smile, to laugh. I delight in the goodness it brings myself and my students and this is reflected throughout my teachings. I look to optimise energy and challenge yet nurture the soul in a profoundly fun and dynamic setting.

My style has evolved over the past 15 years from self practice, varying classes, retreats and training courses.

My teacher training journey includes 240hrs with AppleYoga accredited course with Yoga Alliance and First Year Teacher Training in Iyengar Yoga, 60hrs Childrens Yoga Training and various CPD.

I have, over time, developed my own unique style of Vinyasa yoga. I teach students to embrace the element of joy in and to deepen into their self practice, whatever level they may be at.
